R500f Fused Packaged Capacitor

Series Features

All of our enclosures are galvanized, and are available in NEMA types 1, 2, 12, 3, 3R, 4, and X versions. Enclosures come in wall mount, panel mount, or free standing designs with floor mount brackets available on request. Our standard enclosure is a free standing galvanized type 3R, rated for outdoors.

Standard enclosure dimensions are shown in Drawing 1, Drawing 2, and R500f Drawing 3. Custom dimensions are available on request.

Available options for the R500f include powder coating, LED current indicators, and disconnect devices.

Series Comparison: The R500 vs R500f vs R500s

The R500 is our standard packaged capacitor – an enclosed capacitor bank. The R500 is complete with either a terminal block or wire nuts. 100kVAr is our recommended maximum for the R500 series, above 100kVAr we move to R500f. In the R500f series – our fused packaged capacitor – HRC fusing is included in the enclosure with fuses mounted at the customer terminal block, complete with inrush current limiters.

The R500s series is our line of switched packaged capacitors, where fuses and contactors are included in the enclosure at every level of kVAr. The contactors are complete with pre-charge coils to reduce inrush current. Switched capacitors are typically used in applications with soft-starts, or with varying load conditions.

All series include a 5 minute warning label per C.E.C. standards.
